South West Athletics Academy’s Director of Coaching Sonya Ellis recently staged a portable athletics track event for the BBC’s One Show. Together with our track supplier, South West Athletics Academy set out 100m of track for the One Show for their special guest Usain Bolt who was on the show to promote his new book.
Said Sonya ‘ I got the phone call from the One Show out of the blue and it was a great opportunity  to be invited to put on this event and create a track event right next to the BBC building. It was great to see Usain Bolt on the portable track talking to people. It was actually quite funny as when he walked up the track the speed gun beeped and he wanted to know what it was – I said that was probably the slowest 100m he had ever run and he laughed.‘
