Minis and Juniors

Minis Group is open to children aged 4 to 8.

Juniors is for children aged 8-11.

The aim is to provide year round activities developing co-ordination, balance and fitness through, sprinting, throwing and jumping activities and through games and other related activities.

Advanced Juniors

Advanced Junior sessions are open to athletes aged 11 to 15

We do a range of events covering all track and field events – including:

  • Track – sprints, hurdles, middle distance, long distance, steeple chase
  • Jumps – long jump, high jump, triple jump and pole vault
  • Throws – shot, discus, javelin, hammer and club
  • We cater for all, abilities and a range of disabilities

Plus sportshall, cross country and road running.

we train on a monday from 7-8pm, plus have other sessions tht vary throught the year so please ask for further details.

Seniors

Senior sessions are open to athletes aged 15 and older

We do a range of events covering all track and field events – including:

Holiday Activities

We offer holiday coaching activities during school holidays  at various locations – watch this space!

Disability

A range of activities are available for disabled individuals and groups. We have experience of working at many events and have worked with children and adults to have a go at developing skills and co-ordination, through to performance athletes working towards Paralympic events.

please either come along to one of  our sessions ( Mondays or Wednesdays)  or check our website for specific events being held throughout the year.

Women and Girls

The South West Athletics team have been inspired by the This Girl Can campaign and have just launched brand new women onlysessions on a Monday night from 7-8pm – this group will do a range of sprints, conditioning and runnign activities plus have the chance to do other jumps and throws events – led by women for women.

( if numbers are low or coach not attending sessions will be held with one of the other groups)

Sprint Coaching

We can develop sprint programmes specific to your sport. Speed and core strength is a vital part of many sports. For example we currently provide specific sprint coaching for rugby and football players. We also use speed gates and benchmarking to assess your progress. Please contact us so we can discuss with you how we can develop a sprint programme for your sport.
