We are organising another trip to Belgium this year for the special 50th Anniversary of the International competition and the 70th anniversary of the Antwerp Club in which it is held.
Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th August 2014 with the competition itself taking place on 23rd August 2014
Who can compete?
This is a great trip for developing athletes age 16 and older to gain valuable international competitive experience. The trip is open to individual athletes, club teams, coaches and family members. There are limited events and these will be posted on the website once they have been conformed with the event organisers. Places are limited so let us know if you are interested. We have had final confirmation of events from the organisers. They are as follows:
Women : 100m – 200m – 400m – 800m – 1500m – 100H – 400H- HJ – LJ – PV – DT
Men : 100m – 200m – 400m – 800m – 1500m – 5000m – 110H – 400H – HJ – TJ – PV – JT – DT
Our coach will leave from Exeter and travel along the M5 and then the M4 to the Channel Tunnel. We can pick up people along the route at pre-agreed service stations. Please call Sonya on 07745 616852 to arrange your pick up point.
LAST YEAR – ANTWERP 2013
The South West Team recently attended the Flanders Cup – Antwerp – 24th August 2013 – leaving Friday morning 23rd and returning on the Sunday 25th August.
This event is supports athletes in the South West to gain valuable international experience at the Flanders Cup event in Antwerp.
Events and age groups are listed below including the standards required. Selections will not be made form the SWIC this year as it is too close to the event
Women : 100 – 200 – 800 – 1500 – 100H – 400H – HJ – PV – TJ – SP
Men : 100 – 200 – 400 – 800 – 1500 – 5000 – 110H – 400H – HJ – PV -LJ – SP – JT
Spaces will be limited and so bookings will be taken on a first come basis. Please ensure that you have confirmation from Sonya before booking to confirm the event(s) and that there is still space in these events!.
Cost of the trip for athletes is £230 and cheaper for coaches/parents (£ 210). This includes:
coach, tunnel crossing and hotel ( room only for two nights in a shared room of 3 or 4)
What you need to arrange:
your own travel insurance and an E1 11 card (medical card)
Refunds will not given if cancelling very close to the event.
